Joe Hancoc  |  Director

I started working in recruitment in 2001 placing VB Developers into permanent roles. In 2004 I joined Square One Resources as the first consultant on their new .Net team. After a successful few years as a contract consultant I rose through the ranks to become a Practice Director looking after all contract and permanent delivery for non ERP roles. In 2010 I set up Hancock &Parsons with my good friend and colleague Chris Parsons from Square One. We have continued to focus on the Microsoft space, launching the UK Azure User Group in 2011 and working with many new and old clients to help them to attract the best talent. We are also proud to have given a number of young people their first role in recruitment, including a number of apprentices.


Richard Mason  |  Global Director of Sales

After graduating in 2004, I have worked within the recruitment industry with special attention to the IT, IT Sales and Sales sectors throughout EMEA, APAC and ANZ. Having previously focussed on European IT Recruitment developing new markets as a Team Leader or hands-on Recruitment Consultant / Business Developer, I have also worked as a Recruitment Trainer where I was responsible for onboarding and delivering recruitment and sales training to new starters. It is with this cumulative experience that I feel I have a strong understanding of the recruitment process and it’s differences (and similarities) locally and globally, he is able to navigate the day-to-day recruitment challenges to the benefit of the client and candidate.


In my current role, I am responsible for a team of Account Executives dedicated to delivering top talent globally – specifically Dublin, London, Singapore and Sydney. We source and manage the recruitment process of IT salespeople and management-level candidates.

Chris Parsons  |  Director

I started my recruitment career after finishing attaining a 2:1 in Business and Information Management Degree at the University of Plymouth. My first role in recruitment was working with Public Sector bodies placing IT Contractors to work on various Government initiatives. In 2004 I decided to move to a company called Square One as the Microsoft market was starting to take off with technologies such as .Net, SharePoint and BizTalk all getting a great deal of traction in the market. Whilst at Square One I placed hundreds of contractors in IT Consultancies and left the company in 2010 having achieved the role of Corporate Sales Director. In 2010 Joe and I decided to set up Hancock & Parsons as a niche Microsoft recruitment business. In the past 8 years we have achieved many things and built a successful company trading out of Chelmsford.

Helen Kaff  |  Finance Director

I began my career in the City working for American Express’ merchant bank Amex, Bank of America, Westdeutsche Landesbank and Societe Generale.  During this time I was selling and dealing in foreign government bonds to and for Central Banks and other institutions worldwide.

The establishment of the Euro came at the same time as my children.  During their formative years I studied accountancy to enable me to work locally.   Having qualified I worked in practice for many years, mainly auditing a very varied list of clients together with a specialism in pension schemes for both private and local government. 

I took the opportunity to join Hancock and Parsons as their Finance Director recently and enjoy the friendly atmosphere and work involved. I look forward to developing my role in line with the recruitment mandate. 

In the past I have been co-opted onto the Board of Relate for a term and was also elected to the Educational Board of a local college on a voluntary basis.


Pauline Hicks  |  Head of Marketing

Beginning my career twenty something years ago as a designer, I have been fortunate enough to work alongside some incredible and inspiring people, helping to deliver global brands core messages.

I started as a senior designer, nurturing and delivering a consistent message through corporate identity and a physical presence on shelf. A fast paced and dynamic environment, it allowed me to tap into my inner geek, through the technologies I was continually exposed too.  

So it comes as no surprise that after having my children, I wanted to keep my hand in to ensure that I wasn't left behind.

It was in these seven years that I learnt how to build websites. I then launched and successfully marketed my first website based business through social media, the national press and with the support of many household personalities, to build up a solid business.

So when it became time to return to work, it was an obvious choice to continue with the marketing aspect of my career. It was a match made in heaven when I came to Hancock & Parsons.

In my position here I get to design, plan and market a company I have upmost pride and pleasure in. Through focused strategies, we find ourselves in an increasingly central position in the Gold Partner space, and the fortunate co-founders of the UK Azure User Group sees me in the very exciting position of helping to run and build out events. We welcome speakers such as Scott Gu, Executive Vice President of the Microsoft Cloud and Enterprise group, Lara Rubbleke, Principle Software Development Engineer Manager at Microsoft  and Julia white the Corporate Vice President at Microsoft.
