VMware Migration Engineer
12 Month Fixed-term Contract – Circa £60K per annum + 10% bonus
Remote / home based role
An exciting IT solutions provider are innovating and transforming their private cloud service offering and require the services of a VMware Migration engineer.
The role
The VMware Migration Engineer will work within a designated project team to aid and support the successful migrations of Private Cloud customers over to new Cloud service.
This is an initial 12-month FTC role, with extensions highly likely.
The successful VMware Migration Engineer will have strong experience working with VMWare technologies and architectures. Good experience and techniques migrating VMware workloads to alternate platforms is also essential for the role.
A degree of evening and weekend work will be required to support client windows for migration. This will be compensated with a mixture of Time Off In Lieu and overtime – as the role is dedicated to migrations, there will be some flexibility around working patterns to correspond with the out-of-hours work.
Key skills needed:- Strong knowledge of VMware products such as vSphere, ESXi, vCloud, vRealize, SRM etc.
- Experience working with Microsoft Windows Servers generations and services, (Active Directory, DNS)
• Solid understanding of networking, IP addressing, firewalling and DNS.
• Experience working within monitoring tools and applications
• Experience of working within a managed service provider environment.
